REVIEW - Baby Bjorn Bouncer Bliss

We were delighted to receive an email recently asking if we’d like to review a Baby Bjorn Bliss Bouncer.

I’ve written previously about my visit to them in Sweden, and what a caring family company they were (you can read that here) and I was excited to see what it would be like. It arrived in a a pastel pink colour, and made of a light-weight breathable fabric that looks to be the same fabric as used in the Summer Editions of the ‘One Air' carrier. One of the things I love about the fabric used by Baby Bjorn is that it is Oeko-Tex Class 1 certified - specifically tested to ensure it's safe for babies!

The bouncer is designed to not need batteries, to not play music, mechanically rock or vibrate. Initially I found this unusual in a modern bouncer - and yet simultaneously pleasing, as it’s such a pain when batteries run out causing both parent and child much unnecessary upset. I have to admit I was a little sceptical about how much enjoyment a baby could gain from the seat, with no music or vibration - but I needn’t have been.

The Bliss is designed to move with your baby’s movements and so all the wonderful babies who tried it (Close and Calm clients) loved it. You could see the realisation on their wee faces as it dawned on them that it was they themselves causing the movement, they all seemed pleased to be free to interact with it whenever they wanted.

Practically it’s a parent’s dream. No batteries, it’s lightweight. It collapses with one swift movement to lie flat - and was ideal for transporting to and from our baby carrier drop in sessions. The cover inevitably got dirty - but it’s fully (and easily) removable and machine washable.

This cute wee man is at the upper end of the ‘baby position’ but loved bouncing around in it!

The price is steep - retailing at £144.99 in the UK - but it’s an ideal gift for someone and all the babies who had a turn loved it.

Thanks again to Baby Bjorn for your generosity, The Bliss is an asset to our Baby Carrier Drop-in Sessions and will be enjoyed by many parents and children.
